Sins of the Lines

Sins of the Lines by Sharhonda Exantus

When Nia Bryant disappears right after she becomes a member of the Kappa Theta Theta sorority, Detective Chris Evans and his partner are faced with lies, betrayals, and the long buried secrets of Nia’s life.

“This book legit took me to another place!!” Jamie S. wrote in their five-star review. “The author left me wanting more after every chapter making it impossible to put this book down!!! I really appreciate the fact that I was able to continue to guess who was the killer throughout the book as it gets into the action very quickly! I definitely recommend this book for crime book lovers, and honestly even those who just want a great read!”

“Could not put it down,” Jessica’s five-star review started with. “I could not stop reading this book because I just had to know what happened! I really enjoyed trying to figure out what happened. The characters were so well written that you get totally engrossed in their experiences. I loved it!”

Silent Moon

Silent Moon by Sarina Dorie

After Cassia is accused of murder and witchcraft, she escapes to the manor of “Conri the Bloody,” who is allegedly a werewolf who murdered his wife ten years before. Slowly, her memory begins returning and she begins to decipher cryptic messages from the murdered wife.

“I really enjoyed this one, and even when I thought I had it figured out, there were a few twists at the end that completely changed my perspective on half of the scenes in the book, which makes it a great reread too!” writes Marjorie in their five-star review. “Hints of Jane Eyre, Bluebeard, Druid tradition and more all mixing in a book I didn’t want to put down.”

“This was a twisted yet beautiful story. Written in such a way that the truth is hidden from the reader as much as the characters.” writes Phthon in their five-star review. “Torn between Lyle and Kellan, unable to trust any but Fen, Cassia also has to struggle with herself and why she was missing huge chunks of her memory. I loved reading this!”

Corgied to Death

Corgied To Death: A Dog Lover’s Cozy Mystery by C.B. Wilson

Winston, a corgi, accompanied by Cat Wright, a human, are given the task of connecting all the loose ends in the murder of Paula Powell…by Paula herself. This book flips from World War II and back, and has spies, code breakers, and a famous lost diamond to find.

“Took a chance on reading this book. The cover intrigued me. I am happy to say I thoroughly enjoyed the book,” writes pj1995 in their 5-star review. “It was a refreshing change with bits of history, sprinkled with witty humor, intrigue, and of course dogs. Loved it and I am looking forward to my next adventure!”

“Dogs, the hunt for a long lost diamond, and a World War II intrigue… combine the three and you have a mystery you cannot put down,” said Brandi in their five-star review.

The Dollmaker

The Dollmaker by Morgan Shamy

Taking place in the 1920’s, a crazed serial killer dubbed “The Dollmaker” is creating “art” from his victim’s bodies. This “art” is removing limbs, stitching them back together, and suspending them in doll-like positions throughout the town. After Dawn Hildegard’s best friend is kidnapped by the Dollmaker, she has to team up with two brothers to find her best friend before it is too late.

“Thrilling!” writes Anonymous in their five-star review. “Pulls you in and before you know it, you can’t put it down. There are twists, mystery, and a little romance. I also loved the character developments, especially, the main character as she came into her own no matter what was thrown at her. Also, there is a twist. Will you guess the true killer?”

“I loved this book,” writes C.S. in their five-star review. “The pacing stayed level and quick, the characters were uniquely suspicious, and Morgan kept you guessing who the killer was until the very end. She stitched together a wonderfully creepy mystery with a MC who bucks the standards of her time and wants more for herself, and I was here for it. If you’re looking for an escape, this is it. Her writing is crisp and clear, yet descriptive. Read The Dollmaker. Make your guesses.”

Next Stop, Murder

Next Stop, Murder by Hadley K. Knox

Former forensics expert Celia Strong left the city to open an ice cream shop in the Adirondack Mountains. She thought she escaped the world of crime, until a wealthy tourist ends up dead with a knife in his back. Celia and her daughter Katie team up with the locals to help solve the case. The six other passengers on the tour bus each hide a secret, is one of them the murderer?

“This murder mystery requires you to really pay attention, not only to the clues given but to each character that is speaking,” said Crystal in their five-star review. “This author has fully developed the characters and properly instilled the twists needed to keep you engaged while providing the right back stories and lead ups to the crime solving.

“This book has all the pluses of a cozy mystery – small resort town setting, great cast of side characters, smart protagonist, twist-and-turns mystery and surprise ending. It also has a touch of police procedural with the protagonist being an ex-NYPD forensic analyst,” wrote Joy in their five-star review. “Great storyline. Highly recommend.”
