How can I change my settings and preferences?

Most of your preferences and settings can be changed from Your Settings tab, but below is a list of the different things you can change and set and where to find them.  Click the link to go to the FAQ about the specific tab that the changes you want are found on for more details.

From Your Settings tab, you can modify the following settings and preferences:

  • Genre Interests – this is the list of genres that you indicated you were interested in when you first signed up, and determine which offers you see in your New ARCs Available tab. If you change the list, your set of book offers may change.
  • Username –  Your username is a unique name to Hidden Gems and may, in the future, be displayed publicly (like in leaderboard lists) so we HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you DO NOT use your real name.  If you do not set your username, the default is your email address and in that case we would not include it in any public lists, but we do encourage you to set it something else.
  • Email address – You can change the email address we use to send you various notifications and reminders
  • Password – You can change your password if you’ve created one
  • Romance Newsletter – Opt in or out of our romance newsletter email
  • eBook File delivery options – Determine how you want the ePub book files sent to you, which is explained in more detail here.

From Your Profile Links tab, you can modify the following settings and preferences:

  • Review Profile links – If you haven’t already submitted them, you can add your profile links or names for all of the review sites where you can leave reviews (Amazon, Goodreads, Kobo, Barnes and Noble, Bookbub, Apple, Google). This will determine which book offers you get, although currently we are only sending Amazon books. But we are collecting the profile info for the other sites now so that you’ll be ready to get offers for those as soon as we are done adding support for them.
  • ARC Sign Up Email Delivery – You can opt out of getting the daily ARC sign up email (the one that includes all the covers and genres of the new books offered that day) although we highly recommend not doing so, as this email is a reminder about the new books and without it you may miss offers or forget all about us!
