Romance is the most popular genre in the Hidden Gems ARC program and our readers love the chance to dive into new reads, often before they’re even for sale. Today we’ve rounded up five newer hot romances that have been highly rated by readers. Which one will be next on your to-read list?
The Match by Winter Renshaw
With over 650 Amazon reviews and a notable 4.5 star average rating, The Match from Wall Street Journal bestselling author Winter Renshaw is a hit! This contemporary sports romance is about a woman having a baby by sperm donor then unexpectedly meeting him and what unfolds is a game changer.
“If you’re looking for a romance that is light on the angst and heat, but heavy on the love and family theme, then this is definitely one to read,” writes I Heart Reading in their 5-star review. “This story is about family and the strength lies in the characters and their relationship. Both Rossi and Fabian are beautifully written characters. And what I loved about them is that neither came to the rescue of the other. There was no damsel in distress and no alpha beating his chest. Rossi knew what she wanted in life and worked for it. She was honest and genuine…and unlike anyone Fabian had ever met before. I loved Fabian. He never wanted to have children, but once he discovered there was a child in the world who shared his DNA, he accepted it and wanted to be involved. He is the type of man who works and fights for what he wants rather than feeling entitled because he’s a star athlete. He’s fair, aware, and determined. As the story progresses, he realizes that his fame and fortune feel hollow without someone to share it with. That realization slowly blooms with each scene. And it’s beautiful to witness his growth.”
DaniG3 writes in their 5-star review, “Can a book give you baby fever? I think that just happened to me. Lol. Swoon, Swoon and more swooning. This book melted my heart. The story was amazingly written from beginning to end. This story makes you believe in love, meant to be, those “butterfly effect” moments. How else can you explain everything that happened. Two people being thrown into the same path without knowing it. I rooted for them, I’ve never wanted two characters to be together more than Rossi and Fabian. Baby Lucia was the absolute cutest. There were a few roadblocks along the way but nothing can stand in the way of true love, finding your soulmate. Now, I’m going to go and purchase the paperback now because why not?! Please add to your tbr if you haven’t already done so.”
Bad Boy Bachelors of Orange County Volume 1 by Khardine Gray
With nearly 130 Amazon reviews and an astounding 4.7 star average rating, you’ll get four steamy reads to binge in this collection. If you like hot, steamy, romance with gorgeous, drool-worthy bad boys, you will love this collection.
“A full packed box set with four full length stories that will rock your heart and mind!!!” writes Terri E. in their 5-star review. “The Cartwright sisters are as different from each other as night and day but they also have each other’s back when needed. Meet each sister and the playboys that they tame as they themselves are also tamed. Whether you like enemies to lovers, second chance high school crush or best friends to lovers, you’ll fall for these tough guys needing love as much as the sister that catches their eye. Great chemistry, relatable characters, full of twists and turns, misunderstanding and all have their HEA with his/ her POV. Can’t wait for cousin Gage Cartwright’s story!!!”
“Kardine Gray has a wonderful style of writing no matter the genre,” explains Retired to Read in their 5-star review. “Here she has a boxed set of the romantic stories of four sisters, born to the richest of parents in the richest county in the USA. Taylor wants to take over her father’s PR company and has modeled her life after her father’s. But he’s wary of turning the company over to her. Abby’s the oldest and is craving a baby like her friends, so she proposes to her best friend since babyhood to make her pregnant, but he tells her she’s crazy. Mia is outgoing but put off by Eric jumping up and leaving after sex and he wants her again? Does he think she’s a fool? Her sisters are sure their youngest sister, Vanessa, is a virgin. What will happen when her high school crush is traded to her father’s NFL team and he wants her? Four novels turn into one epic story!”
Not Another Manwhore by R.L. Kenderson
With an average 4.5 star rating on Amazon, the best friend writing duo R.L. Kenderson brings us another romcom hit with this fake wedding date romance sure to heat up your eReader.
“I loved this book so so much,” raves Kerissa B. in her 5-star review. “I can relate to Bree. Learning to trust again after being hurt is not an easy thing to do. Even though she tried to stay a life-long member of the USWSLwOVSWNHABDoERABMS Club, life had other plans. Love happens when you least expect it and her chemistry with Zack could not be denied. As for Zack, he had to figure out that quality is definitely better than quantity. R.L. Kenderson delivers again with a steamy page turner that has you laughing, crying and then ultimately falling in love with the characters. I can’t wait for the next installment in the series.”
Krystal D. writes in her 5-star review, “R.L. Kenderson is one of my go to authors for a good contemporary love story and I’m so excited for this new series, Not Another Romance. Bree needs a date to a family wedding, to avoid getting the dreaded “when will it be you” lecture from her mom. Luckily her friend just happens to have a single hot brother, Zack who has a reputation for being, well, a manwhore. What could possibly go wrong? Fake dating is a hit or miss trope for me but I fell for every lie Bree and Zack told. Their interactions felt so natural, and their chemistry was ridiculously hot from the start. Don’t even get me started on his… nope, you’ll see.”
Think Outside the Boss by Olivia Hayle
With over 400 reviews and an impressive 4.5 star rating, Think Outside the Boss is a steamy billionaire workplace romance that was a hit with Hidden Gems ARC readers.
“This is my first time reading a book from this author and now I’m hooked,” writes Catvirgo, Vine Voice, in their 5-star review. “I can’t wait to read more. I highly recommend this book. The blurb was the first thing to grab my attention and then the reviews were a great rating so I decided to get it on my KU. This book was everything and more I love, hot spicy love scenes, smart sassy female character and a handsome alpha male. From the start Frederica and Tristan were drawn to each other. Their attraction sparked like a fire and consumed them. I really appreciated no angst in the storyline, sometimes you just need a HEA with no drama or games. I enjoyed their relationship as Boss and Employee grew to much more than either expected. They both have trust issues to conquer. Give this one a try and you’ll be cheering them on too.”
Kindle Customer Linda raves in her 5-star review. “This is my first Olivia Gayle story but it will not be the last. I LOVED this story. The characters were spectacular and I wanted to be in their lives too. Tristan is such a great guy, ambitious, honorable, handsome, and sexy. Frederica (Freddie) is a smart ambitious young lady who knows where she wants to be and is focused on getting there. Tristan and Freddie meet one night while trying to relieve their loneliness. After their wonderful night together neither find they can’t forget the other. BUT it seems fate has other ideas and Freddie’s new bosses boss is …Tristan! This story was so lovely I cherished every word. VERY HAPPY ENDING.”
Opposites Attract by Jacqueline Lee
With an impressive 4.7 average star rating, the winner of the RWNZ Pacific Hearst Contest and Winner of the Cleveland Rocks Contemporary Long Romance, this opposites attract romantic comedy will make you laugh out loud.
“Cute cover and the promise of an enemies-to-lovers-trope and the nerd/jock… Wow, count me in,” says Bookgyrl in her 5-star review. I can’t believe this is a debut or one of the first novels of this author. I keep thinking it must be the synonym of another author. I had a great weekend enjoying this book about Megan and Brandon. Megan is 24 and looking for an apartment. She finds it as the roommate of Josh and when she finds they have the same sort of background and interests she is actually hoping for a spark with him. However, he also has a very annoying older brother, Brandon Seaton, who is a quarterback in the NFL and thus her very opposite. But between their banter and changing insults something else seems to grow between them. I really enjoyed this story. We get the POV of both Megan and Brandon and that gave extra insight to their thoughts and feelings. Both have their insecurities and I thought it was quite realistic. I wish there was sometimes a bit more showing than telling but overall this book gave me a happy feeling.”
“This was so much fun!” raves X in their 5-star view. “The characters were likable, nice people that were easy to cheer for. The author did a wonderful job of making a story that was light but not insubstantial. The characters had their issues to overcome, but they worked through them like kind, mature adults and didn’t devolve into unnecessary drama. The story was blessedly free of insta-love. Instead, the relationship grew steadily and naturally and included lots of fun banter and joking. I’m going to be chuckling at Science Barbie and Football Ken for quite a while! There was definitely chemistry between the couple, but their physical relationship was described fairly obliquely (I’d say PG-13ish). I wouldn’t blush suggesting this to my mom.”
